What is eustress?

Eustress is a new word for most people. It's good stress. It's similar to good cholesterol versus bad cholesterol. Eustress is good and distress, its opposite, is bad stress. Eustress is the optimal amount of stress that helps promote growth and health. Stress can help push us to perform to higher levels and excel. Eustress is like using our flowing energy to get to peak performance levels without getting overloaded.

What programs does Inroads offer for managing stress?

We believe that EFT offers perhaps the most simple, powerful and effective way for people to manage their stress. When people come to realize that even though stress may be triggered by outside circumstances, how we process our energy and emotions on the inside affects the amount of stress we feel. Our programs include assessment, design, delivery, reinforcement and measurement. We evaluate what works best within each organization, depending on the culture. Our area of expertise is helping individuals and employees change because this is where people can experience immediate results. Cultural, organizational and management changes take longer term actions and plans.

Let's be blunt. Some people, especially "busy executives," consciously or unconsciously, don't want to get rid of their stress. Stress is politically correct in our culture. In a strange way, stress is almost revered. It defines us. For many, stress equals success. That is until it takes its toll and manifests in health problems, work issues, family relationship conflicts, etc. For those of you that choose to hold onto your stress, or believe that there's nothing you can do, what you believe is what you achieve. For others that recognize the damage stress does, take action to do something about it. Stress overload is unnatural, unhealthy, and uncalled for. You can learn to do more than just manage it. You can get rid of stressful feelings in minutes. Don't believe us? Put us to the test. Call us at (703) 255-5261 x6.

What is EFT?

EFT stands for "emotional freedom techniques." It was developed in the early nineties by Gary Craig, a Stanford University engineering graduate and personal performance coach. At Inroads, we're innovators and early adopters. We like to be on the leading-edge in helping people succeed to create lasting changes. We're not satisfied with the status quo. Inroads considers EFT to be one of the most important developments in self-help and human performance engineering tools available today. While breathing, focusing and relaxing methods are helpful, EFT does the job quicker. In fact, we challenge anyone to demonstrate to us a swifter, more effective method. That's why we guarantee to produce results.

Please note, while EFT has proven to be very effective for stress reduction and management, it must still be considered to be in the experimental stage. We offer EFT from a peak performance coaching perspective. Those who want to discuss the use of EFT for a specific emotional problem should confer with a medical or mental health professional.

Can EFT be used for more than just stress?

Although at Inroads, our focus is helping organizations train their employees in how to use EFT to manage stress, EFT can be effective in many ways for emotional and physical conditions. The very best source for using EFT in other ways is to visit the EFT Web site.

Can anyone learn EFT?

Most anyone can learn the basics of EFT in a short period of time. That's one of the reasons that we like and recommend EFT to executives and employees. Mastering the nuances of EFT takes time, training and experience working with a lot of different people.

What is the best way to learn EFT?

For stress management, we believe that our programs are the best way for executives and employees to learn how to use EFT to manage their stress. For individuals interesting in learning EFT, we highly recommend two Web sites. The first site  is by Gary Craig, the developer of EFT, and offers the most comprehensive available on EFT anywhere. You'll find a wealth of case stories, information and videos on CD or DVD for learning EFT. Visit the EFT Web site. In addition, Dr. Patricia Carrington offers some excellent tools for learning EFT. See her Web site at the to-end-stress Web site.

Are the testimonials from real people?

Sure. All of them are from clients we've worked with. All contact information is on file. For their privacy, and the fact that people are often sharing sensitive information, we only list their first name and last name initial.
